What is Beauty?

Dana Depta • 28 June 2018

I have finally decided to take the plunge and add a blog to my site. I have always wanted an easy way to share information with visitors and I’m super excited to start this journey. Keep coming back to my site and check for updates right here on the blog.

When I decided to embark into the Permanent Makeup world full time, I wanted to create a name for my business that was captivating and for it to be informative-I want it to tell clients what they are getting. I wanted something fun, different and not so literal. I wanted a unique name that made my business stand out from all of the others. Unfortunately, witty vocabulary is not my strong suit. I decided that I needed to see what other PMU businesses are called.

The more I read and researched names, the more the word 'beauty' came up. I started to think, what is beauty?

When I was younger, I was very tall and skinny. I wore second hand clothes and never had a 'look'. I was, and still am a Tomboy. I didn't feel as though I was beautiful. Maybe it's because I got made fun of for not looking a certain way? Maybe it's because that's how others perceived me. Do things like clothes or nice hair make someone beautiful? What makes something or someone beautiful? Is it something that is given?

Naturally, I put my friends to the test. I posted on my Facebook page a few questions without telling people why I'm asking. I wrote, 'What do you find beautiful? What do you associate with that word? What does it mean to you?'

The comments that came back were a mix of expected things like good looking girls to their wives. Some were surprising and funny, but my favourites were the ones of memories, ideas and feelings.

For me, beauty is a word that I have never really associated with only things that are pleasing to the eye. I think that love, passion and friendship are all beautiful. I find beauty in memories of a loved one, things that makes you happy, kindness and helping others. I think the smell after it rains is beautiful. Or just being in nature.

Being a beautiful person is quite a subjective term. Aesthetically speaking, they say that people with symmetrical faces are the most beautiful and make the best models. Considering that most of us have not been blessed with perfect symmetrical features, we make up for it with makeup, hair cuts, clothing, etc.

Permanent makeup was designed to enhance your natural features.

Whether your eyebrows are not symmetrical or you lack hair, permanent makeup can help fix this and leave you more confident to wake up without makeup on. Maybe you're not very good at putting makeup on. Your hands don't work well anymore. Maybe your hands shake too much to put on eyeliner. Permanent makeup can give you the confidence to go out and have a good time without worrying that you have raccoon eyes. How about selfies whilst swimming on holiday? Permanent makeup will give you the confidence to take as many as you like without checking your makeup.

Confidence is beautiful. It's not what you wear, or what you have. It's a feeling. It's how you feel about yourself and others. Its being positive. It's embracing the things that make you different. It's living your life the way you want to!

It's incredible how many people tell me that I have changed their lives after giving them new eyebrows. It doesn't sound like a big deal to allot of people, but if that's your insecurity, it can change your perspective once they are 'fixed'. Every time you look in the mirror, that insecurity turns into a love. Allot changes when when those insecurities go away.

I still haven't figured out a good name for my business, but it did remind me of why I love PMU so much. To see someone not stop smiling over a new set of eyebrows, or to see them post lots more selfies, or to hear that their treatment has given them more confidence gives me the best job satisfaction in the world!

When you are confident, you are the most beautiful.

Why Tattooed Eyebrows Turn Yellow after Laser Removal & How to Effectively Remove the Pigment If you're experiencing yellowing of your tattooed eyebrows after undergoing laser removal, you're not alone. This is a common issue that many people face when trying to get rid of eyebrow tattoos, especially those that have been done using older ink formulations. The good news is that with the right approach and the help of an experienced professional, you can successfully remove yellow pigments and restore the natural look of your brows. In this blog post, we’ll explain why tattooed eyebrows turn yellow after laser removal, what steps you can take to further remove the pigment, and how I can help you with this process, leveraging years of expertise in tattoo removal. Why Do Tattooed Eyebrows Turn Yellow After Laser Removal? Tattooed eyebrows often turn yellow after laser removal due to the nature of the pigments used in the tattoo ink. Many eyebrow tattoos are made with inks that contain red, blue/ black and yellow to make up different shades of browns. When these pigments are broken down by the laser during the removal process, they may react differently based on their chemical composition. Here’s why this happens: 1. Pigment Breakdown: Tattoo removal lasers work by targeting the ink in the skin and breaking it down into smaller particles. When the laser hits the tattoo ink, the pigments may not always fade evenly. Some pigments, particularly those with red or orange undertones, can react to the laser by turning yellow or even greenish, as they interact with the skin’s natural undertones and the laser's energy. 2. Incomplete Removal: In some cases, laser treatment may not fully eliminate the tattoo pigment on the first pass. When pigments aren't completely broken down, they can settle in a different hue, such as yellow, as they attempt to dissipate. 3. Ink Quality and Composition: The quality of the tattoo ink used plays a significant role in how the pigments react to laser removal. Lower-quality inks, especially those used in eyebrow tattoos, may contain substances that change colour or behave unpredictably when treated with laser energy. Yellow can also be used as a modifier in pigments. Often, blue and red can be removed easily, leading to the yellow to be leftover as laser ‘doesn’t see’ yellow. Can Yellow Pigment Be Removed? Yes, yellow pigments in tattooed eyebrows can be removed, but it may require additional treatments. While laser removal is effective at breaking down tattoo ink, not all pigments respond the same way. Yellow pigments, in particular, can be tricky. However, there are options available to help ensure the complete removal of stubborn yellow hues. Why Choose My Services for Eyebrow Tattoo Removal?
